Overview

Remediation work on high availability that had stopped being available — failed Hyper-V virtual switches restored, iSCSI storage paths diagnosed, and clustering brought back to a state that actually fails over.

02

Technical challenge

High availability that has never been exercised is an assumption, not a capability. Virtual switch failures and iSCSI path problems had to be diagnosed on live infrastructure without extending the outage.

03

Architecture

  • 01Hyper-V virtual switch configuration restored so cluster networking behaves predictably.
  • 02iSCSI initiator and target paths traced end to end to storage presentation.
  • 03Failover clustering validated so the high availability layer performs as designed.
04

Implementation

  • Remediated high availability configuration on virtualized infrastructure.
  • Recovered failed Hyper-V virtual switches.
  • Troubleshot iSCSI storage connectivity and path presentation.
  • Restored resilient operation of affected workloads.
05

Outcome

Affected workloads returned to a resilient, verified high availability configuration.
